At the Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg the Faculty of Chemistry and Physics is seeking a


Full Professor (W2) in „Inorganic Chemistry"


The applicants future field of research shall concentrate on chemistry of inorganic basic chemicals for utilization of chemical commodities and exploitation of minerals and waste as chemical resources.


The teaching duties include inorganic chemistry in basic and specialized lectures of courses in Chemistry and Applied Natural Science, and for courses of other Faculties at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg. The applicants should also offer new lectures in the area of chemistry of resources. The ability to give lectures in English langu-age is expected.


The candidates should have experience in the area of synthesis, separation, modification and refinement of clas-sic inorganic basic chemicals, such as, acids, bases, metal oxides, salts etc. and should be able to gather novel knowledge in chemical science about exploitation of resources. It is further expected that the applicants participa-te in cooperation of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg with the Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technolo-gy.


The candidates should also cooperate with other research groups in related fields in geology, mineralogy, chemi-cal engineering, materials science and economics.


The applicants must satisfy the general prerequisites for an appointment as professor in accordance with para-graph 58 of the Saxon University Law, dated December 10, 2008 (Sächs GVBl. Nr. 19/2008m, S. 900) in the applicable valid version. The position is available immediately for a Junior-Professor (W1) and after positive eva-luation be transferred after 3 years tenure-track into a W2 Professor tenure along with the corresponding shall appointment funding.

TU Bergakademie Freiberg is devoted to an instructional and research concept that expects faculty members to relocate their domicile to the vicinity of Freiberg. The univertity provides active support for candidates who seek childcare facilities and/or for their spouse/partner.
