Research Fellow, Electromagnetic Nanocommunication Networks
The Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering is a newly structured department starting to operate on 1st January 2013.
Research fields in the Department are Advanced Electronics Systems, Electronic and Biomaterials and Manufacturing, and Communication and Positioning Circuits and Systems. The department has a modern, forward-looking research agenda that is both scientifically ambitious and industrially relevant and well aligned with the general research strategy of the University. The research agenda combines elements of science and technology in innovative ways and is open to new initiatives. The department maintains close ties with industry and the broader society.
Job description:
Post-doctoral research tasks in Electromagnetic Nanocommunication Networks using analytical and simulation methods. Tasks are focused on networks of miniaturized devices with tight battery budget, under the Internet of Things (IoT) and Internet of Nano Things (IoNT) concepts.
Requirements:
The successful candidate for the position of Research Fellow shall be expected to possess an applicable Doctoral degree and the competence to conduct independent scientific work as well as teaching skills required for the position.
When a candidate’s qualifications for the position are evaluated, previous experience in state-of-the-art wireless technology and connections to international research shall be appreciated. Also collaboration with industry is considered beneficial.
The applicant should be able to demonstrate a successful publication record. The candidate should also be able to demonstrate previous research in the field of Internet of Nano Things, especially on energy efficiency and machine-type communications.
Salary: The salary will be based on both the job demands and the employee's personal performance in accordance with the University Salary System. According to the criteria applied to teaching and research staff, the position of a Research Fellow is placed on the job demand levels 5-6. In addition, employees receive performance based salary.
Trial period: Trial period of four (4) months applies.
Other: The position will be filled for a fixed-term period from 1st January 2013 to 31st December 2015.
