11 Fully Funded Research Training Positions across Europe - Marie Curie ITN: Language and Perception
Application deadline 25th March 2013
The Network is seeking visionary and energetic researchers to undertake 11 positions as Early Stage Researchers (ESR, PhD students) as part of LanPercept, a Marie Curie Training Network. This training network offers a unique interdisciplinary approach to the examination of the bidirectional relationships between language and perception, for the first time bridging the translational gap between basic and applied research, both in clinical settings and in industry. LanPercept encompasses 3 work-packages which form three interconnected clusters: (1) Language-perception interactions in healthy participants – basic research (with 6 complementary ESR/PhD projects); (2) Language-perception interactions in atypical populations – in aging and developmental disorders (with 5 complementary ESR/PhD projects); (3) Advanced technologies for language and perception research (with 4 individual Experienced Researcher projects, not yet announced). The offered fellowships cover a broad range of disciplines, including psychology, psycholinguistics, neurosciences, linguistics, cognitive science, and technological platforms.
For a description of each of the available positions and information how to apply, go to www.lanpercept.eu. A highly competitive salary, and full coverage of social and mobility expenses will be offered.

Eligibility criteria
Required qualifications are posted for each position separately at http://www.ntnu.edu/lanpercept (jobs & news). Please pay close attention to the requirements and eligibility criteria, as described for each position at our website announcement.
The appointments are offered in the context of a Marie Curie Initial Training Network and transnational mobility as a key element of eligibility. Therefore candidates’ eligibility for the post is determined by Marie Curie terms and conditions (consult also http://ec.europa.eu/euraxess/index.cfm/rights/index for additional information). At the time of recruitment by the host organisation, researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc) in the country of their host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the reference date (mobility rule). Please note that candidates may indeed be nationals of the host country as long as the mobility rule is observed. Short stays such as holidays and/or compulsory national service are not taken into account. The Early Stage Researchers, at the time of recruitment by the host organization, must not yet have been awarded a doctorate degree and are in the first 4 years (full-time equivalent) of their research career. This is measured from the date when a researcher obtained the degree which would formally entitle him/her to embark on a doctorate, either in the country in which the degree was obtained or in the country in which the research training is provided.
Selection process
Please visit our website for information on how to apply for each position. The application should include a letter of motivation, CV, and names and contact information of two referees; as well as position-specific requirements. The selection will be made by a specifically designed committee including the project PIs (supervisor and co-supervisors), and 3 other members of the Network. Short-listed applicants may be invited for an interview. The positions will remain open until filled.
