Job description
In this position you will work onachievingthe goals set in the diXa work package“Human Disease Databases”:
Make an inventory, gap analysis, quality assessment and process to retrieve data on molecular data of human disease from existing, publicly available data sources and new data source;
Create a common portal between these databases and the diXa e-infrastucture.


As a post-doctoral researcher you will publish scientific journal articles on your work and will actively seek new funding opportunities through grant applications. You will present your work at local, national and international conferences. You will provide guidance to BSc, MSc and/or PhD students and will interact with other researchers. You do not have teaching obligations.

 

Requirements
A candidate with the following required and preferred qualifications:
PhD in Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, Molecular Medicine or equivalent.
A project and result-oriented way of working with a planned approach.
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team of physicians, physicists, computer scientists and other medical and non-medical personnel.

 

Preferred:
Experience with working with publicly available molecular data sources (e.g. GEO and KEGG).
Experience with statistics.
Experience with gene-expression microarray data analysis.
Experience with working in the scientific or medical field.
Ability to program in R or equivalent languages.
Fluency in English.
